tsunami seafood emporium about us wave
japanese word tsunami meaning harbour wave
Tsunami (pronounced tsoo-nah-mee) is a Japanese word with the English translation, “harbour wave”. Represented by two characters, “tsu”, meaning harbour, and “nami”, meaning “wave”.

A tsunami is a wave train, or series of waves, generated in a body of water by an impulsive disturbance that vertically displaces the water column. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, explosions, and even the impact of cosmic bodies, such as meteorites, can generate tsunamis. A tsunami can grow to a height of up to 30 metres and reaches the coast with tremendous amounts of energy.

It is with this same energy and vibrance that we at Tsunami Seafood Emporium wish to welcome you.

We take pride in accompanying your taste buds on an exotic voyage of consistent freshness, quality and affordability.
Our strength lies not only in our award winning international culinary masters at work in our kitchen and sushi bar to bring you pleasure on a plate, but in a dedicated team of staff who are committed to ensuring that your experience with us, from start to finish, is filled with quality, consistency and service excellence.
